SiFu Jessica Placek was born in 1986, the year of the tiger. However, SiGung Conrad would say she is more of a crane. She lives in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania with her parents when she is not residing in Dallas, PA for college. She achieved the title SiFu and her black sash - level one in August 2005 at the 2005 Pai Lum Tao International Conference. SiFu Jessica started taking kung fu classes at the age of nine under the instruction of SiGung Conrad. Now, thirteen years later, she loves training in the martial arts as well as teaching fellow classmates and the Little Dragons of Clarks Summit. She attends the PA Spring Camp, takes part in judging at the PA State Tournament, and attends the International Conference in Orlando, Florida. At the 2004 Pai Lum Tao International Conference, SiFu Jessica placed second in sparring. At the 2005 Pai Lum Tao International Conference, she received two first-place medals for forms and sparring. Also, to her surprise in 2005, SiFu Jessica received the Assistant Instructor of the Year award. When not training or teaching, you will find SiFu studying hard at Misericordia University, where she will receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science and her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in May 2010. She hopes to pursue her Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy also after she works a year in the PT field. For fun, SiFu enjoys running, lifting weights, cooking, shopping, watching movies, hanging out with her friends, and spending time with her family and boyfriend.
